Originally the Pachira Aquatica comes from South America where the plant grows on land. In nature the tree can grow about twenty meters high. Fortunately, this is not the case when the plant is in your living room.
The plant is known as Malabar chestnut, and is also called the Money Tree. In Asia they believe that the plant is a symbol of business success. A perfect office plant!
It is best to give the Pachira Aquatica a location with lots of indirect sunlight. The plant needs a lot of sunlight. Does it get too much sunlight? Then the leaves will burn and turn yellow.
Give the plant a good splash of water once every three weeks. You can clearly see whether the plant gets too much or too little water. Brown leaves give the Pachira Aquatica too much water. Although brown withered leaves can also come from too little water.
