Description

We also call the Davallia the Monkey’s Leg. The Varen owes this nickname to its hairy offshoots. More and more legs are added which eventually leads to a full plant. The Davallia grows mainly in the width and certainly not in the length.

The handy thing about the Varen on a lava rock is that the plant can hardly suffer from root rot. In addition, the plant gets enough nutrients from the lava. As soon as the container underneath the lava rock is almost empty again, you can fill the container up to about 2/3rd. Always leave a small layer of water in it.

Although the care of the Davallia is easy, the lava rock can be a bit demanding. Yes, you hear that well! Because of the lime in tap water, the lava stone can turn white. It is therefore best to give the plant rainwater.
