How do you take care of the Ceropegia Woodii?
The best location
The Ceropegia Woodii can really enjoy the sunlight. Although the plant prefers to do this from a distance. As soon as you put the plant in the indirect sunlight, it is quickly finished with the plant. It is best to place the plant a little further away from the window. Fortunately, the Ceropegia Woodii also lets us know when it gets too little light. As soon as the plant gets too little light, its leaves will fade. In the end you only have green leaves left. And that’s a shame, of course!
Watering the Ceropegia Woodii
Although the plant does not radiate it, the Ceropegia Woodii is a succulent plant. This means that the plant does not like wet feet. In any case, do not water more than once a week. Once every 10 days is sufficient. Let the soil dry a little before each watering. In winter you may water once every two weeks. That’s more than enough.
Plant nutrition
The Ceropegia Woodii is not a large energy consumer. Feeding plants is therefore certainly not necessary. Although you could give the plant extra nutrition from spring to summer. Use regular plant food and halve the recommended amount that you can find on the leaflet. By giving plant food you can give the Ceropegia Woodii plant just that little bit extra. Who knows, maybe the extra food will result in beautiful flowers.
Repotting
Repotting the Ceropegia Woodii is only needed once every 3 years. This is because the plant has rather small roots, which prevents it from growing out of its flowerpot quickly. However, we do recommend repotting the plant immediately at the time of purchase. Use a flowerpot that is at least 20% larger and add fresh potting soil immediately.
Air purifying function
Despite the fact that most plants have an air-purifying function, you cannot expect this from the Ceropegia Woodii plant. The leaf of the plant is so small that an air-purifying function will have almost no effect. Well, you can’t have everything!
Is the Ceropegia Woodii poisonous?
Nope, the Ceropegia Woodii plant is non-toxic! Although it is always good to pay extra attention to children and pets. Has the leaf of the Ceropegia Woodii been eaten? Then, just to be sure, contact a doctor and keep a close eye on strange behaviour.
Diseases and peculiarities
Also positive, the Ceropegia Woodii is not susceptible to pests or diseases. The reason for this? The plant can withstand drought well and the leaves are too small for most pests to live on. Doesn’t the plant suffer from vermin? Then it’s best to use a plant sprayer. Usually you get rid of the vermin with a few hard jets of water. If not, you can use pesticide.
